Please read the following, and you will think differently on Ramen noodles:

The problem is that ramen noodles hold no nutritional value to speak of and contribute to childhood obesity. There are some Oriental dishes that make use of ramen noodles but do not use the flavor packets. The noodles themselves offer four grams of protein per serving, which accounts for about 8 percent of the recommended daily value.

Sodium
1. Ramen noodles are high in sodium, and too much salt is not good for anyone. The majority of this sodium is from the flavor packet that, stirred into the water in which the noodles are cooked, creates the broth. According to the Mayo Clinic, 77 percent of the sodium that people eat comes from processed foods. There are 1,960 milligrams of sodium in one serving of ramen noodles, which represents 82 percent of the recommended daily requirement of salt.

I buy Ramen noodles but throw away the flavor packet and use low sodium chicken or beef broth instead. This would be a lot healthier for your children if you are feeding them Ramen noodles.

Just thought I'd share.

When I use to babysit for my SIL she would send over Ramen for her daughter to eat all the time. I couldn't stand giving a little girl fried noodles for lunch everyday. I don't care how poor she was claiming to be there are other options -rice is cheaper and healthier, Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are cheap too! I finally said she can eat what we have for lunch.

My family does eat Ramen noodles, I am not saying I am above a quick fast bowl, but usually it's when dad and I go out on a date and they can fix that pretty easily for themselves.
