I made some cotton drill re-usable shopping bags for several on my list last year. I pre-washed (it shrinks something terrible!) and then embroidered a pretty design on the side, attached webbing straps and sewed up the sides and squared the bottom. They were quick, inexpensive and well-received.

Fleece can be cut and serged the edges for a very quick and easy throw.......great for curling up to read or watch a movie! We have several since we sometimes get chilly in the evening watching TV.

Embroidered towels, both kitchen and bath; pillowcases made from a good quality no-iron broadcloth with a light airy embroidery.......shower wraps made from towels.........

Hope others will jump in here.
Kay

I agree that any kind of towels are good.
I also love giving aprons.
I just bought one of those in the hoop chapstick holders- those would be good-
or those in the hoop kleenex cases.
