I just finished 27 pillowcases for http://conkerrcancer.org I found it to be fun, I only made a few doubles as I get bored too easily doing too much with the same fabric  It really does make you feel good to be able to use your sewing abilities to do good!

I love all the bright color choices. These will definitely light up a cold hospital room and the children's faces. May God bless your efforts as much as these will bless those that receive them.

Thanks everyone!

Goochgirl I was told beforehand that it is hard to find good fabrics for boys and when I went shopping, I was scratching my head as I was finding more for the boys than the girls :!:

I must say, its people like you, who do good deeds who dont get recognized enough. Oprah or someone should give you a car and some cash b/c your truly the one who deserves it! I know, one day the good Lord above is going to be so glad to meet such a wonderful person like you! This world needs more caring, and truley GIVING people like you. You know, those pillowcases might make ONE child fight for their life...and that makes it all worth it!
I hope you life is blessed, and that you have a wonderful week, month and year!

Bless you! What a wonderful thing you're doing. Some of these kids go through more in their short lives than most of us could ever imagine. You will put a bright spot in their day!!

The majority are from JoAnn's with a few from Walmart.

Those are all so gorgeous. Okay - I'm hooked now. I'm going to contact them and get dimensions, etc. and try to do some for them too. Thanks for sharing this with us! :)

I looked them up on the website. It gives the dimension and pattern. I am off to the fabric store tomorrow. This is a great cause.

Hi Karebelle: Your pillow cases are beautiful and so very inspiring. Since I first saw your picture, I made 39 pillow cases for ConKerr. What a great cause. I can't tell you when I've enjoyed a project more. The pillow cases are easy and go together so quickly. I dropped off my pillow cases this morning and immediately started gathering fabric for my next batch! Thanks for the information and the inspiration.
Best Regards,
Topshelf Pod

I also contacted my local person right after I saw your original post and have a batch ready to mail this week.
They really do sew up quick and easy and are for such a worthwhile cause. :D

Wow what wonderful pillowcases you have made!
I too have made pillowcases and in the hoop toys and hand puppets to take to our Children's Hospital. You just can't imagine the joy on the nurse's faces when we take these things out of the bag. I have even been so lucky as to hand some things to little ones.....has made tears instantly stop. I even saw a teenager after she had been given a pillowcase by a nurse, she was smiling ear to ear even though she was very very ill. I have quite a stash of 'pillowcase' fabric and will be doing this for a long long time.
Thank You so much for sharing and inspiring all of us with your giving spirit!!

Thanks for sharing this site. I think it would be a great way to use some of the wonderful fabric that I have bought with no intentional project in mind....and feel good about it too.

Your pillowcases are very inspiring.
