Hi All..........
I was with a group of women sewing yesterday and someone brought in a wonderful breakfast dish. I was told it was made with crescent rolls, cream cheese and cinnamon, but they did not share the recipe. Anyone out there know what I am talking about ? It was YUMMY !

Ingredients
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese
2 (8 ounce) packages refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract or almond extract
1/2 cup margarine or butter, melted
1/2 cup cinnamon sugar
Directions
1Using a 9 x 13 baking pan, unroll one package of refrigerated crescent rolls and line the bottom of the pan.
2Flatten.
3Mix together the cream cheese, sugar and extract.
4Spread over the crescent rolls.
5Unroll the other can of crescent rolls and place on top of cream cheese mixture.
6Pour one stick of melted butter or margarine over the top and sprinkle with about 1/2 cup of the cinnamon sugar mixture.
7Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes

I think this is the recipe you are talking about. Cindy I usually leave out the cinnamon as I have several family members that don't care for it.

Of course it is low cal, but, you can use the reduced fat rolls, and the low fat cream cheese. You might also be able to replace the sugar or some of it with Splenda. That would help a little. Cindy

I hate to add this, but, this is extremely good hot from the oven - just be careful of the hot filling. Cindy

I have used this same recipe and spread a can of apple pie filling between the cream cheese layer and the second layer of crescent rolls. It was delicious.

I fix this too but haven't ever had it as a breakfast dish; we have it as dessert. But I'll have to try it with the apple pie filling although it's so good alone that I hate to mess with it!!!

Natlin, I KNOW I gave you this recipe awhile back.....you haven't tried it yet? Shame on you.....don't you WANT to gain 5 lbs. from just smelling it?

We use a recipe just like that but don't put the melted butter on top. After taking out of the oven, we sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. I have had some with the melted butter and in my opion, it keeps the top from being flaky. Makes it kinda mushy.
